We will get hurt many times over in life whether by family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances or even church family. We need to understand the power of forgiveness and learn to forgive. In forgiving the perpetrator, the one who hurt you, you are releasing yourself not only from pain, but you also close doorways the enemy can use to attack you and even cause illnesses. Above all, by forgiving, you are obeying the word of God. In Ephesians 4:32, God asks us to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” The bible also tell us that “… if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Matthew 6:14.
