Blessed is she whom the Lord has called
Called out and chosen to be a wife
A wife to God’s anointed servant.
Patiently she keeps waiting
Waiting for the man of God as he counsels

Waiting as he sits to council meetings
At times as he chats with colleagues.
Patiently waiting without any ill feeling.
It looks to me like a ministry
Yes, a ministry indeed
To be a minister’s wife.

You must be persuaded in your heart
That the Lord has chosen you
To fill that post
You will be frustrated if you force your way.

When the Pastor is busy at elders’ meeting
What keeps you busy, minister’s wife?
You can pray for him; the Church family,
Nations of the World and needs of men and women.
You can read and meditate on the Holy Scriptures,
You can write down some inspirational songs
And challenging messages.
If disciplined, a lot of good things can come
Out of those waiting hours.
Waiting minister’s wife!
Blessed are you.
