Lesson 1.1 Who is a World Christian?
Topic 1.1: Introduction
A world Christian is “A Christian who has caught the vision of God’s global purpose, who has responded to that vision in practical ways and whose lifestyle has been transformed in obedience to the demands of that vision.” (Perspectives: Glossary E-12) 1981 edition
The lifestyle of a World Christian is characterized by the following:
- Obedience: A world Christian must live to obey God and His word and instructions.
- Humility: Recognising the fact that whatever one possesses is given to him/her by God and that keeps one to see others in the way God sees them. Be lowly in heart.
- Suffering: A world Christian must be ready to suffer for the sake of the gospel.
- Witness: A world Christian must witness for Jesus Christ in word and in action.
- Simplicity: The lifestyle of a world Christian must be a simple one.
As world Christians we now view life as:
- a time of battle
- a time for harvest (Perspectives Study Guide 20-1) 1981 edition.
